MAN UTD'S BRACE AGAINST CITY PUT PRESSURE ON CHELSEA

MAN UTD'S BRACE AGAINST CITY PUT PRESSURE ON CHELSEA FOR TOP FOUR FINISH

Manchester United 2-0 win against Manchester City in the Manchester derby increase pressure on Chelsea for top four finish.

The Reds put in one of their best performance against a team that has arguably been the best team for the past two seasons in the EPL(English Premier League. United new signing Bruno Fernandes provided a nice assist for teammate Anthony Martial and the Frenchman wasted no time in putting the ball in the back of the net to put the home team in front.

After the restart of the second half, the visitor pulled one back to make it 1-1 through Sergio Aguero after a good one-two pass with Raheem Sterling but it was ruled out by the video assistant referee(VAR) after a lengthy check on the goal and it was shown on the VAR screen that Aguero's left arm was on offside position.

In the closing stage of the match, City's shot stopper Moraes Ederson made a terrible mistake as he attempted to throw the ball into the path of his teammate but instead, the ball went straight into the path of United's midfielder Scott Mc Tominay and the Scottish made no mistake in putting the ball in the back of the net to seal the victory at Old Trafford.

However, the Reds remain unbeaten in their last 10 games in all competition and with matches coming thick and fast, an away trip to Austria to face LASK in the Europa League last 16 tie on March 12 and an away trip to north London to face Tottenham on March 15 provide a tricky test for Solskjaer's squad whether his current side can keep the momentum going.
