Priest accused of sexually abusing girl impregnated by brother

If Grace Nkanueko, a 20-year-old pregnant woman thought she had found succor after a Catholic Priest, Jekpon-Oghene Dukuye, took her into his house after her stepbrother raped and impregnated her, then her dreams were effectively shattered.

According to a Lagos-based journalist, Hammid Bakare who was notified of the case and is doing all his best to pursue it get justice for the victim, Nkanueko was purportedly rescued by the Priest when her family sent her out after her stepbrother raped and impregnated.

The Priest reportedly brought her to Lagos, promising to house her and take care of her till she gave birth.

But as soon as she moved into the holy man's mission house, she became his sex slave as he slept with her anytime his libido came forth, not minding her situation until she was delivered of a baby.

But after she gave birth, another twist to the story was played out after Dukuye asked her to sell the baby so that he could continue sleeping with her at will and he did this in connivance with some medical practitioners who helped to deliver her baby.

"Back to the case I talked about yesterday the one involving abuse, rape and possibly, child trafficking. I have written to the Commissioner of Police and I have been to the Social Welfare Department where the illicit act has been reported.

This case was brought to my attention. There is this lady, aged between 19 and 21, that was a patient in a hospital in Lagos. From what I gathered, her stepbrother raped and impregnated her and she was sent away from her village.

A Catholic Priest brought her to Lagos promising to take care of her but ended up repeatedly sleeping with her under his roof while she was still pregnant.

She was delivered of her baby through Caesarian Section on Tuesday last week. The church Priest and some other people are trying to convince this young lady to give out her child for a price.

She is really shattered because of all she has gone through. I believe that she should be assisted and not be deceived to give out her child.

I am taking it upon myself to investigate this matter and help this young lady. From her story, her step mum and even the village had sent her away, which means she is basically on her own.

I am currently waiting for the Welfare Office of Lagos State with a view to ensuring that the young girl the new baby are not separated.

The name of the hospital where she is right now is Mother Mary Catholic Hospital on Kamoru Adeyemi Street, Ire-Akari Estate, Isolo, Lagos.

She is in the female ward. Her name is Grace Nkanueko. and the culprits are Jekpon-Oghene Dukuye [Priest]; the doctors are Dr. Chidinma Ejiofor and Dr. Jane.

I have alerted the Lagos State authority on abuse and child rape. Presently, the hospital officials are trying to take the girl and her child to an unknown destination.

I will also see to it that the culprits Father Dukuye, Dr. Chidinma Ejiofor and Dr. Jane are apprehended. Meanwhile, anyone out there who can help the mother and child with toiletries and stuff to help her nurture her child can contact me directly.
