President hosts Saraki, Dogara to private dinner at the Villa
President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, October 26, hosted the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and Speaker Yakubu Dogara to a private dinner in his residence at the Villa.
This
is contrary to media reports that the two National Assembly leaders and
a host of other lawmakers were refused entry into the Villa and as a
result, they angrily left.
Buhari's Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, tweeted a picture on Thursday night to confirm the dinner.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo among others also dined with the President.
"Tonight,
President @MBuhari, VP @ProfOsinbajo hosted SP @BukolaSaraki, Rt Hon
@YakubDogara to a private dinner in his residence at the Villa", Ahmad wrote.
The Aso Rock
security operatives were said to have insisted on carrying out checks
on the legislator's convoy before they would be allowed entry into the
Villa, but the lawmakers reportedly did not think the checks were
necessary, so the security personnel shut the gate against them.
It is believed that the matter was later resolved amicably.
