NPS : PSERC train 24 inmates on basic education in jos prison.

About 24 inmates of Jos Prison took their seats to commence the 2017 Basic Education Certificate Examination in order to  make them competent in realizing their talent for a productive use.

According to a press statement made available to journalists was signed by the NPS public relation officer ASP Luka Ayedoo, of plateau state command stated the exercise was organized by the Plateau State Education Resource Centre (PSERC).

The statement explain that the examination commenced 30 May, 2017 with practicals in Business Studies, Computer Studies, Basic Science, Agricultural Science, Basic Technology as well as Physical and Health Education is a requisite for placement into the Senior Secondary Classes.

In his good will message , the Controller of Prisons Plateau State Command Noel Ailewon admonished the inmates to conduct themselves well during the examination and work hard to earn good results that will make the service proud.

He express delight with the service’s readiness to provide quality education to inmates; therefore call on the state Government, private sector and the general public to support this course that have become a ready tool for ensuring public safety.

Earlier the Principal of Jos Prison Adult School ASP Ugwuoke Abuchi expressed  readiness of the inmates for the examination and are in high spirit, evident in their quest for extra classes and their ardent interest to make good results.

The principal commend the gesture of PSERC for given opportunity to the incarcerated persons to pursue education while in custody.
