Lawmaker constitute committee on CVR , urges constituents to register.

Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Alkali(APC-Lafia North),member at the Nasarawa state House of Assembly has constituted a seven-man committee on Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in order to encourage his constituents who are yet to register and obtain their voters card to register in order to vote in 2019 general election.

Ibrahim Alkali while constituting the committee in Lafia urged them to carry out awareness to his constituents on the importance on voters registration.

The Lawmaker has appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to create more registration centres for easy registration by his constitituents and the state at large.

He also advised his constituents against double registration, adding that the ongoing CVR is for only those that are yet to get their voters card or turn 18 years this year, urging his constituents especially the eligible voters in to participate in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).

“The ongoing CVR in the state was an opportunity for eligible voters to be registered to be able to vote during the 2019 general elections and beyond.

“This is another opportunity for them to have their data captured so that they will be able to exercise their civic responsibility of choosing leaders of their choice.

“It is a good thing for them as patriotic Nigerians to be part of this exercise because without voter card, how will one vote and be voted for apart from other benefits of the voter cards.

“It is on this note that, Iam constituting this Seven Man Committee on Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) to create awareness to the people of my constituency especially of Lafia North on the need for them to register on the ongoing CVR” he said.

The Lawmaker advised the people of his constituency and the state at large to take advantage of the exercise to be part of the electoral process.

He reinstated his commitment to continue to key in to good policies and projects that have direct bearing on the lives of his constituents and the state at large.

Responding, Mrs Charity Agule, the Chairperson of the committee, who spoke on behalf of other committee members commended the lawmaker for his developmental strides.

Agule, who is a former commissioner of Women Affairs in the state assured the lawmaker that the committee would carry out their duties effectively without fear or favour.

News Now reports that during the meeting the stakeholders of the constituency commended Gov.Umar Almakura over his developmental strides and called for its sustenance.
