The Deputy Speaker, Plateau state House of Assembly, Hon.Saleh Shehu Yipmong has thrown his weight behind the agitation for the local government autonomy in Nigeria.

Saleh Yipmong, representing Dengi constituency at the 8 assembly revealed that he has been an advocate of local government autonomy in the country for long.

He added that a functional autonomy  local government level was operated in the past in this country and its impact was felt.

While fielding questions from journalists at the assembly premises yesterday mark 2017 workers Day and explain in particularly the third tier of government people have witnessed local government autonomy was working at the grassroots but now looses it completely.

"We believe by the people desirous autonomy and we desire an election where the people will vote for what they truly desired and that is what form the repealing PLASIEC election.

"When we look at it before the advent of this administration were lots of bottle neck concerning the local government election.

"That has been harmonize and practice a participatory system of government for people to make their impute'', he said

The speaker stated that the system is working well for the government.He added that everybody participate in the process of law making because a law is made for the public that is why it is subjected to public scrutiny.
