Group Urges Governors to Comply with New Tax Law

The Nigeria Association of Agricultural Product Dealers (NAAPD) plateau state chapter has given 24 hours ultimatum to state governors to as a matter of urgency comply with the federal government laws on tax levies or face major protest in the 36 state of the country.

The state chairman Yusuf Samuel Hamman disclose this recently in a press conference of NAAPD stakeholders forum express gratitude to the minister of agriculture and rural development Chief Audu Ogbe for tireless effort.

Hamman stated that the forum is crying out because of multiple taxation on agro- commodities and explain how illegal check point mounted by hoodlums causes lots of havoc to transporters which also with the emphasis on the reason that revenue generated from service rendered was approved by National Council On Agriculture NACA, National Economic Council NEC and also government law on tax.

"we need to bring sanity to our federal and rural roads for security reasons. The country is having its agricultural product rejected internally because the consultant and hoodlums will not allow the appropriate authority to perform their statutory function of inspection and certification at the control post”, he said.
